Earlier this year (January 2022) the Federation came together and voted in a new/ returning executive committee as follows:

Denis Fernandez – Vice President
Don Swonnell – Vice President
Diana Jones – Treasurer/ Public Officer
Larissa Penn – Secretary
Meetings occur every second month and have been very well attended across 7 Progress Associations (PA) with each PA nominating 3 delegates. One of the first orders of business was to re-confirm the Federations purpose, how it operates and set goals for 2022. A detailed strategic plan is being developed in line with these goals, to guide the Federations priorities over the coming years.

In addition to these strategic level activities letters have been sent to the appropriate levels of Government concerning various urgent issues regarding the WHTBL project, sewerage issues, proposed changes to the “Code of Meeting Practice” for Council Meetings, over development concerns, local transport issues and more. We have also provided a forum whereby PA’s are able to share essential information and expertise in preparing their submissions to planning reviews such as the recent LEP/DCP “Have your Say” process. Federation representatives have met directly with our new Mayor and State Representative, Tim James and have been in contact with our new Federal Member, Kylea Tink. We are looking forward to continuing to represent our member Progress Associations in working with our elected representatives in the best interests of Willoughby.
